Was in Target today, they had the D510 marked down to $299 (said regular price was 399). [EDIT]My Mistake, I thought it was $199 marked down. I called back to confirm and I was wrong! The price is $299 which is not hot at all. The free 64MB is still valid though. Also, they had a few other cameras on clearance as well as a sony Hi8 Camcorder. It might be worth visiting your local store just to see what's being reduced.[/EDIT]

Olympus has a rebate offer or a free 64MB Smart Media when you purchase the D510 ending TODAY (01/31/02).
Rebate here. If that doesn't work you can get to it from here.

Camera is 2.1mp and specs can be found here.

That's not a bad deal at all. This camera was going for $399 just a couple of weeks ago. Olympus lowered the MSRP to $299 because they have a replacement model coming out. Lowest price online is about $245-250, but that's mostly from the shady looking dealers. Overall, this camera has received good reviews for a point-and-shoot. I almost bought this one, but went with the Toshiba PDR-M71 at Gateway because it offered more manual controls.

I work at Target and yes, there was a huge markdown on this camera. I don't remember exactly but our store didn't change the sign yet, but it will ring up with the markdown.

So it should be all Targets. Good luck getting one in stock though :)

Same here. Found one but it's not on sale but based on iahk's advice I'll run over and have them ring it up just in case.

The guy I talked to said he had a couple calls right before mine asking about the camera (AnandTech Effect?).

Sorry to get you all excited... I had asked someone to confirm and I found out it's not $199 it's $299. After the confusion here, I called the store I was at (S.Florida) and had them verify the price since I wasn't 100% sure. They told me it was $299 from $399.

I've changed the thread title so hopefully this will drop off now--since the camera has been $279 at other places and you can still use the 64MB SmartMedia rebate at any authorized olympus dealer.

i am disappointed in the amount of people calling about this deal though in this thread :<
whatever happened to the true heds, the ones that didn't call and mess up the deal for other anandtechers... i'll tell you. they are sinking their toes into a $200 18" lcd that's what
keep on calling, but don't complain when you miss a deal

What do you mean? is there a problem with calling to check price and availability before driving in sleet?
