Fixed - read this first - Help I cant get into the BIOS of a new TB system. - But can boot.

Guys
I just built a Athlon 1Ghz TB on the following platform.

MSI K7TPRO-2A
A round heat sink with fan in the center. Silver colored
Radeon 64MB
SB Live MP3 5.1
3Com Network card - causing some problem I think - trying to network boot
Firewire Card

I had gone into the bios after my first boot (before adding the additional componenets - sound, nic, firewire). This was just after I built it. Now when I hit delete it just gives me a black screen with a blinking cursor on the upper left.

Anyway help would be great.

I am going to take the cards out first and see if I can get it to boot first.

Edit:

Its posting. Infact it booted to the floppy I had in teh drive.

I think the hard drive doesn't want to boot. If you're just using windows, format a boot floppy with the /s extension from the identical windows version and type sys c: after you boot from it. If all is fine, then you've fixed your problem. I seriously doubt that any hardware is causing troubles in your system. It doesn't make sense for it to make it past bios and prevent you from booting.

ok went back to basics
I now have the proc, memory, video card .
that is all.

I dont have anything else in there. Its exactly as what it was when I first booted it up to test if everything was alright. That was the only time I went into the bios. Set the date and time and a few more things.

the next time i booted it was with the cards in place.

still an nogo. I have reset the bios several times by the jumper.

Fixed

Finally got it to go to the BIOS

Guess what it was.

I had a fan (the one behind the cpu - under the powersupply) connected to the system header (system power supply on the mobo).

For some reason when I took that off it promptly went into the BIOS.

Yes.. now I can go get some dinner.
