Fixed one problem, got another

Just got in some new parts. Winchester 3200+ and a MSI K8N Neo4 mobo.

Edit:
Just got everything connected (first few posts are about that issue). WinXP goes through loading screen and right before it gets to the login screen i see a blue screen flash before me. It restarts too quickly for me to read the error. Safe mode loads fine. Ideas?

Reseat the motherboard and verify that it is installed on the standoffs properly. If that does not work, pull the mobo out of the case and place it on a flat surface (desktop would work) and try now.

Looking at this thing intuitively, i see a 12v power connector thing. My old p4 ran with just a standard 20pin PSU molex connector. The manual says that 20 pin works fine in the 24pin slot but my old mobo DID NOT have the 12v power thing. Is it as simple as "my PSU will not work with this mobo?" or is the system supposed to boot without the 4pin connector?

oh, heh....apparently I do have a 12v connector - it was "hidden" because i didn't need it before so i tucked it away. OS boots, i feel like an idiot. gg.

update: the restart happens a few seconds after the lights on my keyboard blink as the login screen is about to come up.

my previous setup used a p4 and an agp video card but i successfully changed the drivers under safe mode.
