Hi, I just set up a Shuttle XPC SN45G system (nForce2 ultra 400, built-in ethernet). I just finished installing windows XP and the chipset drivers that came with my motherboard and.... I have no ethernet adapter. Nothing shows up in the device manager except the IEEE 1394 connection. I don't even have anything showing up in the device manager that doesn't have a driver or anything.... it's just like it's not there. Any ideas? Thanks,

Bryan

Edit: I'm a moron, see my reply down below.

The drivers on-cd are almost always old by the time you receive them, let alone by the time they're on store shelves. Get drivers online to make sure they're new.

If you install nvidia's IDE drivers and can't burn a cd or things install wrong, unistall the nforce drivers, then reinstall them but don't install the IDE drivers. Also, make sure you install the latest display drivers after you install nvidia's nforce drivers, the display driver that's bundled sucks.

Hey, thanks for all the replies...... but the answer was far more simple (oh god, I really don't want to admit this).... I.... ummm... well, the ethernet adapter was disabled in bios =P. Apparently it's disabled by default and I never even thought to check those bios settings =P. I feel like such an idiot =). Thanks again,
