Hey guys...

I'm stuck...

I finally got my new NF7-S rev. 2 up and running... however, My 60GB WD Drive will not detect. I've tried master, slave, CS, on both IDE channels. I have also tried using different IDE cables.

The drive detects fine on my other system. What the heck is up?

Edit:
Before anyone asks, I'm already using the latest bios for the v. 2 board from abit.

wasn't there some problem with nforce 2 chipsets and some WD drives? I think the solution was to cut the first 2 wires on the cable(one of which is marked with a red line) or call WD and ask for a special cable. you should confirm this before trying to cut the cable though.

You're kidding right?

My 80GB JB drive seems to work fine.

I think the 60GB is the BB 2MB version.

Remove the jumper entirely so it's jumpered to Single Drive mode. If that doesn't work, cut the red wire and the ground wire next to it in the IDE cable.

I've already tried the open jumper (master/single). It didn't detect properly then either.

Besides... I want to run both hard drives... It is just a storage drive...

I tried to find something in the Abit forums and even did a search at the Western Digital site.

I've come up with nothing official so far about that.

If I cut those two wires on the cable, will my master drive (80GB) still function?

Did you go to WD's website? This is a known issue. It is not a NF2 issue either. Its a WD issue and they can tell you what to do.

I went to the WD, nVidia, and Abit sites and could find nothing specific about this.

It is fixed though... I'm going to chage the title for easy searching in the future. :)
