Be aware that the LCD substrate is a very thin piece of glass; thinner than common window glass. I recently had to replace the LCD in my laptop after my grandson set, not dropped, his backpack on it. But as I always say, "No Guts! No Glory!".

dont worry, my friend had fedex drop off a laptop in their driveway cuz his dad forgot to bring it home from business trip in chicago, fedex dropped it off outside (laptop) in the winer, and it proceeded to snow 4 inches after they dropped it off. and when they would pull into their garage they would run over it, after about 3 days of running over it, the snow melted enough and they noticed it. ooops, fedex payed for it, but the whole lcd was cracked, shattered, but that was it.
