heh
it died from the stupid cable. so i choped it off and resoldered the bastard to the plug and used ton's of black tape on it. and TA DAH!!! it works like new. but i'm too scared to use it now =( what happen's if it melts while fragging some asses on quake and get blasted by the lighten gun and OMFG!!! the mouse is melting!!! hehe maybe i'll sell it lol. first time using my generic solder from radio shack haha.
 
If its broken Microsoft will send you a new one if you contact their technical support(just dont tell them the "operation" you performed)-there was a big thread here a few months back. I did it and got one in less than a week.
 
i got a new intellimouse explorer no problem when mine died. i also recieved it about a week after it was ordered by microsoft.
