fixed it .. bad heat sink and fan

For some reason when I power on my new mobo it shuts off after 5 - 10 secs . Using a new ECS Kt600-A with a new amd xp 2500 . I have a spare amd xp 2100 here too that does the same thing when installed .

I just cant figure out what the problem is right now. I'am just trying to get a p.o.s.t and I have no drives connected at all .

whats your power supply info?

are the fans connected and working properly?

and what do you mean no drives?

It could be that the power supply does not have enough power. I had an ECS mobo with a 300 watt PS and had similar problems. Swapped it out for a 300 watt with more power on 3.3 and 5 volts and it worked fine.

I'am using a very good Enermax 350 watt Psu .. never had a prob with it .

Drives = hdd , DVD drives , FDD etc etc etc ... Meaning I'am only trying to get a post without unnecessary drives hooked up .
