I can't find the option in the ATI control panel that allows you to scale up 4:3 resolutions on a 16:10 screen so that there are black bars on the side. I can only find the 1:1 aspect ratio choice. Does it exist in the control panel, or do I have to use that CCC thing?

When I was trying this on the 2405FPW, that option didn't seem to be there (I could leave the res at 1:1, or scale it to fill the whole screen, but not scale it up without distortion). Since I couldn't tell a difference between using the scaling in the card or the scaling in the 2405FPW, it wasn't that big a deal, but it seems like an odd oversight in the drivers.

The option(s) are under the FPD button on the Displays tab. The laptop options are generally more substantial while those for seperate desktop displays are a very basic single toggle toggle to driver scale or not -after that it's up to the panel's hardware options.
