Here's another odd one. AIDA32 and Sandra both report this AN7 mobo with an ATI AIW 9800Pro as running at 4x, even though it's set to 8x in the BIOS! At the bottom of the Sandra info module, it even states there something like "AGP not set optimally". I even went into the ATI control panel and set that "SmartGART" tab to "8x" and that didn't do anything. In fact, when I restart it goes back to "Off"!

Is there something wrong with the mobo, or video card? If it matters, monitor is a Dell 20" LCD DVI. No drivers have been installed for it since it evidently doesn't need them. It looks awesome.

Thanks for any info.

Check for updates to the motherboard drivers (chipset, etc) and any bios updates. Many times it is the MB drivers that causes that to happen.

Hi, thanks for the reply. The latest BIOS v15 is installed. All mobo drivers installed and latest versions didn't change this. However, Nvidia GART has not yet been installed. Would that be needed for it? I'm running benchmarks before and after mobo drivers, and I haven't run video benchmarks yet.

Yep, it was the GART driver. I ran some video benchmarks, then just installed Nvidia GART and AIDA32 & Sandra say it's 8x now.
