most of you might know this, but just in case here it is:
if you have a Cd that is not too badly scratched (meaning no Deep grooves) what i found that works very well is using Car Wax, perferably the kind with surface cleaner or swirl removers. just apply the wax with a good amount of pressure let dry to a haze then remove it works great the only downside is that it will wear off after time, but if you have a cdrw just extract the songs and make a new cd. let me know if you have any good results

Maybe I'll try that. I need to fix a few of my CDs. Thanks for the info.

Softscrub works amazing well too on light/medium scratches...plus, you have a nice clean disc afterwards.

you have to be careful when using anything.

the chemicals in what you are using must not contain a solvent which would destroy the plastic of the cd or that thin protective layer on the top.

if you are using an abrasive, you must be careful not to damage the top.

the data layer is MUCH closer to the top than to the bottom... MUCH closer...

i still prefer to go with those products that you can find at fry's and everything. i'm not much of an experimenter when it comes to certain things. lol
