The guy says he wasn't even aware of it, but I bet the web dev'er who put the sample on the site did it on purpose.

The California DMV are nazis in this regard. They wouldn't even let me have "PWNNAGE"...

No shit?

The Service Arizona site said that 'JIHAD' and 'IH8USAF' were available.

The California DMV site said PWNNAGE was available, so I ordered it. A month later I got an email saying they denied it because it was offensive.

Some DMV employee wanted it.

How do you go about getting a custom plate anyways? Are there online services on the particular state's DMV site or is this something you'd have to go to the DMV for?

I think this is kind of cool. WTF used to be what nerdy kids said to each other while playing computer games. Now it is popular enough that they had to recall license plates. That's crazy.

There used to be a girl in her early twenties in a convertible vette who had a plate that read" BOY TOY".

I was only 11 @ the time :(

Someone in my town currently has "SRSLY"

People take things too seriously.

Never mind that most people over 35 (that I've met) don't even know what WTF means.

uh, we aren't that out of touch.

Our local paper had an article about this yesterday. And then a few pages later in the "home" section, there was a big article about the hot new family game that's sweeping the nation- cornhole.

I'm wondering if anybody will write to the paper and point out the urban dictionary definition of cornholing.

I've heard in Massachusetts all it takes is one person to complain about a custom plate to have it removed.

I've seen a Cobalt SS in my neighborhood with the license plate that read OH SHITZ about a year ago. But when I checked the dmv site today, it seems to be available again. Hmmm...

When I got my wtf plate last year I thought it was pretty funny. I saw them making a big deal about it on the news and telling you to get replacement plates. I'll probably just keep mine. I don't see the big deal about it at all.

Is there a free online website that will let you check for plate names that are already taken? Thanks.

All this and still no mention of the ANASLEX plate? :D

What about BUNGHOL, wonder if that'd be ok? Some people might work with barrels a lot, which are of course filled through a bunghole.

Some others that come to mind
