Fear 3 is not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination. It just wasn't a very good Fear game. Kind of like Deus Ex: Invisible war, which is a fine game on its own, but fails in every way possible as a sequel to Deus Ex.

Fear 2 was amazing...Fear 3 was awful. It felt like a COD clone and just took away what made the previous 2 games unique and interesting. There was no mystique, just guns, running, and shooting.

I didn't like Shadow warrior; i mean it wasn't horrible but honestly I thought it was over-rated not under-rated.

Me too.. Original was much fun. The remake was ok, but nothing special.

I have Bioshock 2 and the Shadow Warrior remake, but haven't gotten around to playing them, so that makes me feel a bit better (although I did not find the original Shadow Warrior racist; Lo Wang was THE MAN, even if his Engrish sucked ass.) I did play F3AR all the way through, and while I enjoyed it, I don't see it as underrated. It was a competent shooter but nothing to write home about, and a poor Fear game.

I do have to somewhat agree with Shorty though. This article probably took about as long to write as to read. I don't have a big problem with that, but I do see it all too often in today's world. It could just as well be titled "Five underrated and underplayed PC games off the top of my head."

Darksiders 1 and Darksiders 2

those 2 games deserved much more success than what they got (and the -for now- tragic end of the franchise when thq sold everything and nobody wanted to buy the IP)

I really liked the first one, but I'm struggling to get into the 2nd. I'm playing on PC and it just seems slow and clunky, like a bad port. It might just be a slow start but I liked the first one better.

i also liked the 1st one more, but the 2nd one is still great as it is. Yes, it has a slower pace with the quests, the dialogues and with more traveling involved.
Its not a perfect game, but its still beautiful as it is, the landscapes, the puzzles, the combat and the art style in general are great.

It fails in the story, i admit that, specially when you see it in the big picture of the plot from ds1.

Im not sure if i would play it a 3rd time (lol), but the 1st playthrough should be fantastic

NOLF 1 and 2 never got the sales they deserved, though can't say they were underrated as they were positively reviewed.

I'm not the least bit ashamed to say that I love Postal 2. It's so delightfully awful in all the right ways. And does a great job of slapping a wicked little grin on me every time I play.

Obviously Bioshock 2 wasn't going to be as original as its predecessor but a lot of the gameplay was actually better. I didn't like the story as much but the gameplay, such as the plasmid combinations and trap combos in particular were amazing fun, I repeated the same scenes over and over in completely different ways. The potential was great but I suppose a lot of people just blasted through it with guns as fast as they could, the way other FPSs have taught them too, so they missed out on a lot of what it has to offer. Towards the end, the gameplay was amazing but a lot of people probably didn't even make it that far.

That's all I have to say about that.

Act of War and Act of War: Direct Action

I thought both were great, and I dont understand why no one played them online. Multiplayer was great.

Command and Conquer 3
Initially, it seems people cared, but a little later no one gave a damn. Why? It was an awesome game unlike the garbage that came after.

DarkStone
Really, it got a lot less attention than it deserved

Nexus: The Jupiter Incident
Wonderful space themed game. But it looks like no one cared.

Empire: Total War
Strategy snobs quickly dismissed it, saying Rome: TW was much better and Empire is garbage. First of all, the two shouldn't be compared. Second, I beat Empire and thought it was great. I don't want the devs focusing only on sword and shield times. I am happy they did a gunpowder age game. Too bad they might not revisit those times due to negative reaction.

Ground Control and Ground Control 2
Both should have been talked about and played a lot more than they were.

Cossacks and Cossacks: Napoleonic Wars
No one cared, but it was a great strategy game.

Armies of Exigo
Really was much better than it was rated.

Septerra Core
More people should have played it.

Fate and it's expansion - predecessors to Torchlight. Were both awesome games

Severance: Blade of Darkness
It looked like few people played this, but there was never quite anything like it before or since.

Drakan: Order of Flame
Same thoughts as above...

Ultima X: Ascension
Was totally underrated.
