All this arguing over fucking time
/facepalm
No arguing there; it's always fucking time!
LOL!
I'm from Indiana. Lived in small hick communities, and have lived on about half of the Campus towns in the state. (Purdue, Notre Dame, Ball State). Lived in Ohio, and travel frequently to Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio. I visit, and frequently speak to, family in California (LA, and San Fran) and in the DC/Virginia area. I've lived in the dorms for 4 years, and worked an IT Helpdesk, supporting thousands. I've NEVER heard anyone use "of".
My wife criticizes me for being a grammar nazi, so I'd would have observed the usage of "Of". The Soda vs Pop wars are of great amusement to me. I grew up saying "pop", but it began to sound childish and/or hillbillyish to me, so I started using the word "soda". The use of the word "Coke" as a catchall reference to soft drinks is about as confusing as saying "of" when referencing time.
My vote is: It makes no sense. Use "til/after" if you care about how you speak and how you're interpreted.
"At five of nine, my dog jumped onto the davenport and made me spill my coke which left a large purple stain and a grape smell in the air."
Why speak like this?
