Fitting a Chrome Orb onto AMD mobos

I bought a KT7A-RAID, and I realized that the Chrome Orb doesnt' fit, unless I bend the capacitors (I don't really want to take that risk), or unless I file down the fan (which I don't want to really do either). Would the smaller Chrome Orb (64dia instead of 69dia) fit onto the KT7? Also, does the A7V133 or the K7T Turbo work with the Chrome Orb?

Chrome Orb does not cut it for T/Birds - so so for durons. Get a better HS - maybe the FOP32-1 or Taisol or similar.

Good suggestion, Mykex. 🙂 The Chrome Orb is junk. Get Alpha PAL6035 or FOP32-1 or FOP38. By the way, ANY HSF can fit onto an Asus A7V or Asus A7V133 without any problems whatsoever. That's why Asus was smart enough to put in a daugher card to hold all of the capacitors, unlike Abit. Asus is the $hit!!!

You guys need to let up a little. The chrome orb is NOT a good heatsink/fan for extreme overclocking, but is sufficient for running a duron or T-Bird at stock speed or moderate overclocking. No where in this thread does it say he is going to overclock anyway, so you can't assume it. If you plan on running his T-bird as high it will go, then he will need to invest in a better solution.

Basically, all I'm looking for is a decent fan, like the Chrome Orb. I'm not gonna do some MAJOR overclocking. So are there any good decent fans (not those crazy huge ones), that provide good cooling, that also FITS on an Abit KT7A-RAID?
