I work out at the gym like every other day. I want to get big real fast. Working out alone will not help. What do you guys suggest I take as a supplement? I know their are a whole bunch of stuff out in the markets, like whey designer protein, creatin, etc..... but what really works quick and has shown a visible outcome??

Thanks

first i would like to direct you to this fitness forum

but i will try to answer your question to the best of my knowledge.

First, the very basic formula of gaining weight is calories that you intake > calories used.
Thus, i would suggest you on eating 2500 to 3500 calroies a day if you are planning on gaing some serious weight.

Second, ther rule of thumb is you want to eat 1 gram of protein per lb that you weight every day.

So for example, if you are 150lbs, you need to eat atleast 150 grams of protein a day.
A good supplement is whey protein shakes, which you can pick up at your local GNC store.
I recommend a brand called Optinum whey, its cheap and fairly good whey protein :)

3rd, you need to set up a workout regiment.
Such as monday for chest, tuesday for legs, wednseday rest, thurday shoulders/back, fri rest, sat arms etc.
Try to avoid working out a same muscle group without 48hrs of rest in between the workouts.
It will not help your muscle development but rather stunning it.

That's all i know as of now and anyone else please feel free to provide more information :)

Past year I worked out 5 times a week, with little weight/strength gains. Tried some whey protein, some creatine. Didn't work. Recently I found these 2 sites.

hardgainer.com
cyberpump.com

Following an abbreviated 2 times a week workout, I've gained 3 lbs over the past 4 weeks. Weight training only twice a week sounded really crazy to me, but I decided to try it. I started this routine 4 weeks ago, and I've set a new record bodyweight every week. That's just my experience thus far.

first, what type of build do you have?

second, there is no way to get real big real fast without steroids (which I hope you are not even considering). Focus on long-term goals, although you'll likely see noticable results within a month or two.

Big fast? Eat a TON of food....most of the weight gain will be fat of course.

But if you want to do it the right way-

You need to eat more calories than what you expend. How much you expend all depends on your activity level, weight, and body fat %. Take for example myself. 5'10", 185lbs, 16% BF. I eat 3300-3400 kcals a day in order to gain roughly one pound of muscle a week.

Creatine and Protein shakes are a big plus. For a great protien weight-gainer check out N-Large 2. Good stuff! As far as creatine goes...EAS, Optimum Fitness, and quite a few others offer high-quality creatine for cheap.

As far as training goes. Going in every other day is probably a little much. Most bodybuilders, and especially someone just starting out, only needs to exercise each body part once a week. I myself go between a 3-day and a 4-day split depending on if I can make it to the gym on the fourth day.

It takes HARD work, and it isn't going to happen overnight.

Good Luck!
