Why?

I'm guessing that people want a target place to ask questions instead of amongst the ATOT hooligans.

Yeah, 90% of the "advice" given in a lot of those OT fitness threads is terrible. If we had a dedicated forum for it, perhaps some of those people who hang out in OT wouldn't go out of their way to enter the fitness forum and post misinformation.

A fitness forum would be nice. I like reading journals and seeing people reach there goals.

Another vote here!

Just recently got into weight lifting, and I've been lurking a bit on wannabebig.com and bodybuilding.com. Since I spend the most amount of time on ATOT, would be great if we had that subforum.

I'd love to have a forum. I'm a noob trying to get into shape and having a place like that would be very helpful. Last time I lost a significant amount of weight was on Atkins. Had someone warned me how bad that diet can be for you I probably wouldn't have tried it. I eventually gained back all the weight (plus a few) I lost once I went back to eating carbs 🙁.

I would love a fitness forum as well. Since I am embarking on some lifestyle changes in an attempt to lose 40-50 lbs, and keep it off.

This would definitely, definitely be a great thing. I can't think of anything more important than helping improve and maintain the health of AT members. Just think of all the yummy recipes we could share 🙂

it would be nice to have healthy smoothie recipies, progress posts, how a heart rate monitor is correctly used, etc.

i'd also like to hear about how people trained for different things.

Heh yeah, not the best of diets.

Hell yey!

Wow! If there was a poll, I would try to vote again in it. (I previously supported the idea somewhere in this thread)

I just went back to the gym, and could use the knowledge and support of such a forum.

I belong to other forums but I don't think they would hold a candle to what the wonderful membership here would have to offer.

 Good, now we have to remind Derek during the next upgrade!

great idea its cool to look at forums on body building.com and see transformation and such, but they are very rarely updated and ATOT is full of viewers 24/7...sounds awesome to me!

If it's implemented it'll be a social forum with the Moderators appointed not voted on by the membership. Amused certainly will be considered along with Koing and others.

Something tells me this is going the way of the Programming Forum. No consideration until the next upgrade. In the meantime, this thread will swell to thousands of views and posts with little or no response.

No that I like it, but that's what it looks like. 🙁

Since this probably won't happen, what are the good forums to visit for lifting/fitness advice? I've heard about wanna be big, but I don't wanna be BIG...

Well most of the Mods are onboard for it.

Now we just gotta keep spreading the word.
