Not as good. Its stop and go cardio. You need something that will keep your heart rate up.

you might be "running" all the time, but if it is a good league, you have ot be battaling for rebounds and going for loose balls. But still 30 min of cardio is much tougher than 30 min of b-ball, b-ball u got to play for hours

Who only plays BB for a half hour? It's great exercise, not only will you be sprinting but you will be jumping, running backwards and sideways. The only negative aspect of it is that ankle and knee injuries are fairly common which could sideline you from any physical activity for weeks. A good pair of BB shoes will help lower the risk somewhat.

As long as you are running and actually playing bball and not just sitting in the middle of the court, you'll be ok. Have fun.

You know whats an awesome sport to play. Ultimate Frisbee. You get enough guys to play that on the size of a soccer field, you'll be dead in 30 minutes.

practically every night is bad for you... no time for the muscles to heal. You won't be at the top of your game after a while. 3-4 times a week would be ideal for bball I think. But if you want to do it just to be in shape or lose fat, have at it.

swimming is the best thing you can do, exercises the whole body, and keeps the heart rate up

im a swimmer, but a competitive one, we do 50-60,000m a week

all the states of training, A1, A2, A3, VO2 max, lactate tolerance, lactate threshold etc

Swimming might be the best exercise, but you should do whatever is convenient and especially something that you like

Played tonight for the first time, almost passed out twice. Didn't realize how out of shape I was. In HS I could do this w/o breaking a sweat. I also severly sprained my thumb blocking a pass and it's now 3 times the normal size.
