I put my info into fitday.com and it claims I'm burning about 2,700 calories a day before taking any activities into account. This seems like a lot for someone my size, is it correct? I'm 5'10/5'11 (not sure exactly), 165lbs, and have close to 10% bodyfat.

On average I'm eating just under 2,000 calories a day and I don't feel deprived of food at all. I started eating healthier a few weeks ago, and I actually increased the amount of food I eat, no longer skip breakfast, etc. I don't feel deprived of food at all.

Even without the exercise I've recently started up I would be losing about 1lb a week with my current food intake. Over the past week I averaged a caloric deficit of 1,200 cal/day, and that would mean around 2.5lbs/week of weight lost. This seems high, is this accurate?

I do seem to have lost about 2lbs since about a week ago, but I didn't start measuring accurately till thursday, and I assumed it would be accounted for by natural fluctuations due to water and food.

I usually try not to rely on any website's calculations. Usually what's best is for you to find an amount of food that works for you initially and then see how it effects you. If your weight goes down and you don't want it to, up the calories. If it goes up, bring it down. Honing it in is the best for your body and is a good learning experience.

For reference, I burn about 2500 calories a day. I'm 5'8", 150ish, 20 years old. Hope that helps you out a bit.

Exactly. Those calculations are just an estimate and should only be used as a starting point.
