Fish Sauce Be Gone!

Apparently the MIL came over last weekend and cooked. Now, whenever I sit on my chair (stuffed, shit must have gotten in the fibers) I get a woof of fish sauce concentrated air. How do I get rid of this shit! It smells like extra pungent rotten seafood (I don't know wtf her mom used, the wife's cooking has never smelled this bad).

It all depends. That stuff will linger until you plop in that seat quite a few times.

As for Fish Sauce, I am with you. Unless it is used ina spicy thai dish, I really can't understand why people ENJOY the tast of half spoiled fish!

Fish sauce is one of several very vital sauces in Asian cuisine and yes, it does smell when used in sauteeing, for example.

Cleaning: Spread baking soda all over chair. Let stand for an hour and then vacuum. If smell persists, then use Febreeze.

Plop a bag of real lump charcoal on top. Lump charcoal is far more effective than baking soda. It may work, it may not. If it doesn't, you have a bag of charcoal you can use for grilling.

sounds weird but you could try leaving a small bowl of vinegar out overnight to evaporate. Or maybe a couple paper towels soaked in vinegar to evaporate.
