Fellow will be flying in from Thailand
Admittedly that Betta is a lot fancier looking than the one I got for my 10th birthday from Petco, but flying it in? How much is it? I didn't know that there was a demand for specialty ones, except in fighting.
:hmm:
How did your post end up in HamburgerBoy's post?
:hmm:
That's one hell of a betta.
The coolest pet fish I ever saw was a lionfish (yes, it's a type of scorpionfish). This guy was so smart that when it was feeding time he'd actually float himself to the surface, stick his head out of the water and casually open his mouth when the sacrificial goldfish was offered.
A beautiful, and potentially dangerous, fish.
Is that fungus on his upper lip? I suppose they have the same short life expectancy of the common Betta Splendens?
True, yes he was a saltwalter fish.Salt water. A different game.
No, just a reflection. Four years is a reasonable expectation. This one is not quite 4 months old.
My daughter keeps one, and I was reading up on them and found this fellow. We had one in a community tank some years ago and he did well for over 5 years. I don't plan on putting him in one though.
Fish! Just bought a betta.
Shoulda waited for it to go Golden Master.
Beta always has some bugs..
You can train betas to fight viciously. I used to do this when I was a kid, you can use smooth objects to provoke them inside their jar, or place two next to each others separated by a glass partition, or just two glass jars next to each others.
In my experience, the darker fish is, the harder they fight and the less likely they'll lose. Yours look like a modeling fish, and not a fighting one.
My angel fish know when feeding time is and can interact with me. You've never owned an oscar before I take either?True, yes he was a saltwalter fish.
I was just commenting that he was the smartest pet fish that I've ever seen. Usually, pet fish just swim around in the aquarium, oblivious to the outside world. They are just... fish. This guy was different.
