You'll have to do better than that. The government's abuse of domestic surveillance has been discussed several times here, starting during the Bush administration and continuing through Obama's terms. Most posters, left and right, criticized it. If you asked a P&N Democrat what they dislike about Obama, one of the most common answers was that he didn't sharply curtail domestic spying.

9-11 was basically the green light to ramp up government domestic surveillance.
