Firstrade: anyone have experience with this brokerage?

ADP clears for them. I'd recommend being cautious if for that reason only.

BTW, I'll give you my standard answer to brokerage house questions. I work professionally in this field in one of the largest brokerage firms out there, and I wholeheartedly recommend buyandhold to everyone out there considering an account unless you have enough to afford to have someone professionally manage your money. And if you did have that much money you wouldn't be considering this Firstrade shop in any event. Buyandhold is a competitor of ours but targets a different customer market segment and they and Sharebuilder are IMHO unquestionably the best deals out there, far better than ScottTrade, E*Trade, or any of the other deep discount shops.
 
what do u think of ameritrade... i'm also considering them because they seem to have easy access to withdraw and deposit money(especially when opening up an account), i was also interested in freetrade for this reason.

i plan to make an initial deposit of 5k.

buyandhold looks interesting... reminds me of foliofn. i'll look into it thanks.
