When i turn on my computer i get 1 long beep, followed by 2 short beeps and no signal to the monitor. All fans and hard drives spin up and it sounds like its POSTing. If i hit the reset buttom on my computer it will POST and the monitor gets a signal. This happens everytime from a cold start up. Its been happening since i added an IBM 75GXP as the primary master. See signature for system specs.....its my gaming rig.

Some high performance hard drives may not come up to speed and give a drive-ready indication in the default time allotment. Look in your BIOS to see if there is a "hard drive spin-up delay" or similar setting and increase the time.

:Q thanx Also for some reason HD Tach won't run on the new 75GXP, it says there is no media on the drive...... i only have 1.4GB used on the drive. Do i need more data on the drive?

I have the same problem, but there isn't any option similar to or exactly like dkozloski suggested. Anybody have any other ideas? BTW, I'm running an Asus A7V revision 1.02.

Perchance you guys used pencil to unlock the l1 bridges? You can either a) redue the bridges with pencil and continue to have problems 1 or 2 months later, or do it right and use a defogger repair kit and forget about it.

To allow the hard drive time to spin up to speed disable the ?Quick boot? option in the BIOS. Basically it runs through a full memory check giving the HDD time to spin up.
