First to OCer...are these temps good?

I'm running a 2.4ghz P4 on an a Asus p4pe motherboard. I'm using an Alpha 8942 with a 49cfm panaflo on top.

@ 2.4 Idle 38C Load 41C
@ 2.6 Idle 38C Load 42C

Is it true that this particular mobo reports temps a bit high? Also, I just overclocked by increasing the multiplier in the bios...is there anything else I need to do?

increasing the mult??
do you have an engineering sample?

usually, you up the cpu frequncy with p4's....unless you get an engineering sample...then yo lower hte mult and up the fsb heh

you should lock pci/agp in spec (66/33)

those temps are cool (pun intended ;) )

Lol...i'm already lost. I don't have an engineering sample :/ , so I just need to up the frequency and leave the multiplier alone??

im lost too..

you said you upped the mult and it changed from 2.4ghz to 2.6ghz?
what was the default mult, and what did you change the mult to?

download wcpuid and see waht the multiplier is

Oh man...i think my oc lingo is a little off. I went in the bios in increases something (which i now think is the system bus) from 133mhz to 145mhz. Sorry about that...I confused the two terms.

hahaha

alrighty then
i gotcha

for clarification, cpu freq times the clock multiplier gives the advertised speed

in your case, mult is 18 and cpu freq is 133
145*18=2610mhz

yah just continue the trend

make sure to lock agp/pci at like one option higher than 66/33 (or 66.6/33.3 if its being "technical") , i think if you do that then the onboard sound wont crap out over 150fsb (unless you are not even using the onboard sound, then just lock agp/pci at 66/33

imma pimp this once again heh
