Good question, as I'd like to know as well. Not only the 4-in-1's, but also, does installing the Promise controller, USB2.0, or onboard sound/nic drivers provide any advantage over using whatever WinXP can install on its own?
You don`t have to install the drivers with WinXP since it has native VIA support, however the latest VIA 4 in 1 drivers(4.38) are newer and the new AGP driver in there does give you a small performance boost in XP,I installed them with no problems, still rock stable. It`s really up to you if you do or don`t,personally I`ve never had any problems with any of the VIA 4 in 1 drivers .
