well i'm at a loss I just monkey'd with several different ram settings these are my current

cas latency: 2.5t
ras too cas :3t
actovr to precharge delay: 8t
row precharge: 3t
ddr reference voltage: 2.7v
fsb: 200mhz
vcore: 1.50
agp volt: 1.50

starting to think it IS the power supply...bleh this is why I've always used intel....hopefully i'll figure it out. All 3d apps shut the monitor off!

update:

just upped the mem voltage to 2.8 and the agp voltage to 1.6
ran 3dmark2005 and it progressed a minute and a half into it as opposed to stopping in the first 10 seconds. Seems like voltage maybe the issue here but seeing as how I've never had to mess with it this is quite a headache. I'll never feel confident till I have concrete bios settings and I can't find the pdf's on corsairs site you recommended I read.

I did however get the prior bios settings from "THE RAM GUY" at the corsair site.

edit: this is my ram

What precise brand and model of 420W power supply is that? Something respectable, or just a freebie that came with some case you bought?

Okay guys chalk me up for bonehead of the year. After using my geforce4 ti 4600 for so long I was ignorant to the fact that these newer cards have a power supply link up on them...yes that's right I didn't plug it in. Thank god it was something so simple but now I feel like a buffoon. RTFM!!!

ahhhhhh hahahahaha stupid move lol I'll do the same thing!

...hopefully getting my 6600GT in a few days

Congrats on the easy fix!

hahahahahahh, dont worry though did the same thing on my 6800GT for about 5 mins before I realized I didnt plug it in.

Actually, I don't think you were supposed to be able to get away with that without being sold. IIRC, the GF6 series cards are supposed to throw up a POST warning and a driver warning if the power plug isn't in.
