The spec:
athlon xp 2000+
asus a7v8x
pc 2700 512 mb ddr
wd 80gb HD 8mb buffer
leadtek gf4 ti4200 128mb
antec 835II case (includes 350w power supply)

So here's the thing, I put together the computer around last thursday. When i finally have everything together, I turn it on for the first time, and unfortuneatly, nothing shows up on display and the sound keeps on repeating: "system fails cpu test". So I took it back to the reseller and they tested out the cpu for me. It turns out the cpu is dead for some reason. Soo, I sent the cpu back to amd and today I finally got a new replacement from amd. Well, I quickly put together everything with the new cpu, but so very unfortunetly, it still says "system fails cpu test" when i turn on the comp again. I am really, really frustrated right now, especially since I need the comp rdy in a few days. I'm going to take the system back to the reseller tomorrow and see what they can do... :(

you guys have any suggestions?

Seems with that motherboard with it's BIOS settings, voltages and specific CPU's, you are going to burn up the installed CPU's.

Double check all settings and connections like your fan connectors. Do the CPU fans work, is the heatsink properly attached to the CPU?. Re-read the manual about installing and testing CPU's . View faqs on the mb manufactuer website. Contact them if you have problems and questions.

Something isn't right with the setup, motherboard, or case/power supply.
