First time proxy server setup

I would like to try Smoothwall with Dansguardian. However, dansguardian is distributed in source code format only. And I have absolutely no knowledge to compile it under linux. Anyone know a precomipled binaries dansguardian for Smoothwall and the instruction how to install it?

I have yet to try untangle however...looks neat if I can use it as a transparent proxy...just discovered it abotu a week ago.
 
also check out a free setup + client content filtering....

ClarkConnect (proxy cache, IDS, AV, firewall, rotuer, QoS) + cyberpatrol (costs like $34/year)

Ipcop does not do web filtering by default but with an add-on called Urlfilter it works fantastic on my p3 800 system.

I have been toying around and running untangle on my Home server machine using VMware....I had it working but it wasn't very stable for me and kept dropping my dsl connection...the GUI for untangle is 'clunky' and annoying, i absolutely hate the GUI....why did they have to try and make it 'pretty.' I would much rather it be simple and fast...but even on an o/c'd e2140 it's slow.
