I'd stay away from house brands... Better to pay extra for a known brand and a better cooler and possibly better components. The warranty on the Asus card is longer as well.

I'd get MSI 7850 Twin Frozr from Scan though, it's only £156

Yeah, Sapphire is among the best AMD brands. That's a good choice you linked, it should run cool and quiet

I have heard of Exceleram. It's a rather new brand, established in 2007 in Germany. IIRC, some German guy who I talked to at a forum (sorry can't be more specific) said that Exceleram was popular among enthusiast builds in Germany or something like that.

The kit you linked has the right specs, looks sexy, is affordable and backed by 10 year warranty. It should work fine. I would buy.

Hi guys - I have built the pc now but I can't get it to boot. The LED on the front of the computer flashes green for half a second before going dark and nothing else happens.

I will obviously give you more details etc - but I don't know which are important. Also I don't know where to start diagnosing

I haven't put the video card in yet btw.

I still have my old 300w PSU that it was working, and I haven't put the video card in yet so should I try and see if that PSU will work?

Just done that - boots up perfectly as far as I can tell - CPU fan spins etc so I am going to return the PSU through amazon and get another one (The doa one is an OCZ 500w core X stream) I wouldn't have used it as I realise that OCZ does not have a great reputation but I couldnt find a lower wattage better quality power supply for the same price (£35) on amazon.

Hi Everyone - Finally got everything up and running now, I would just like to say thanks to everyone who helped me with the build, especially Lehtv - I would not have had a clue where to start otherwise!

10yrs! Dang it must be armored or something, I hope they'll be in business for that long.
