I just oced my cpu for the firsttime and i came here to just double check to make sure everything is ok with the oc. I got my 3500+ up to 2.51GHz from 2.2GHz.
The multiplier is at x11.0 and the bus speed is 228.0MHz and the HT link is 1140.2MHz. I also have the voltage set at 1.472v.

Think i can get it any higher? and if anyone else has the 3500+ how high have you gotten the speeds to? Thanks

You could probally go higher, but it depends on your chip and the temps you are getting. If you cpu is running really hot at the 2.51 your getting now then you probally cant go higher unless you get better cooling. What are your temps at idle and load when running at 2.51? What core are you using? venice? winchester? and what type of cooling do you have?

im using the venice core and @ 2.51ghz the temps idle at 32C and at load it goes to about 40C. I have a 120mm fan in the rear of my case blowing air out and i have another 120mm intake in the front and a 90mm sidefan which is also an intake. Also have the zalman CNPS7000B coolin my cpu.

Sounds to me like it could def go higher then. I would look up average venice overclock speeds but I believe they normally get to around 2.7-2.8 on air. I know one way of increasing the overclock is to decrease the HTT multi from 5x to 3x. It also depends on your memory... you running them 1:1? If you are your overclock might be limited by your memory, though you could use dividers to achieve a higher FSB. Ideally you want the FSB as high as it can go. Lookup the A64 overclocking guide on here, it will be alot more helpful then me!
