I've been seeing a lot of people who seem to have forgotten the Wallflowers. They had a good 4-5 hits (One Headlight, Heroes, 6th Avenue Heartache, 3 Marlenas, and I'm probably forgetting another one or two). They're kinda like Matchbox 20 and Third Eye Blind (and a bunch of other kinda similar 90s bands) in that they have quite a few good songs, but were never really able to push into true excellence. I don't have a problem with that though, and consider them to be much better than a lot of the bands that have taken their place since then (Nickelback for instance). I think its the fact that they're mellow, and actually kinda depressing, but I don't really get depressed when listening to them. Now that I think about quite a bit of the music I like, I could say something similar, that the lyrics and maybe even the tone should be depressing, but I don't actually feel depressed by it.

What's the deal, OP? First it was about Kansas, then it was about the Wallflowers, now its only about Kansas again?

Yeah, I saw that, and I think it works better. Can't believe that was the first time you listened to Kansas though, they've had several hits, at least one or two that have been put in commercials (I think Subaru used Dust in the Wind a couple years back).
