I'll be visiting Pittsburgh next weekend for the first time. What area should I go to for the best night life around there?

Also, suggestions to individual bars/clubs and hotels would be greatly appreciated

I'm going to be there that weekend for my second time, last time we just walked the strip because the locals told pointed us that way. We started out at This restaurant:

http://www.rolandsseafoodgrill.com

The food wasn't anything special, but the prices weren't too bad and the atmosphere and service were excellent.

There was also a brewery in a church(somewhere near there), kinda felt like home being from WI, but we still have better micro brews. Cheerleaders gentlemans club was pretty fun too, if that's your type of thing.

The whole strip was alive, but it was a week before the superbowl, so ymmv. I would just start on the strip and don't be shy, we had a great time meeting people and getting suggestions from people in passing. I was even fully dressed in packer gear 🙂

Church brew works is fun and unique
Girasole is a really nice little italian restaurant in Shadyside - service can ge a bit brusque but the food is excellent
17th Street Cafe in Southside is excellent as well
if you want something really special go to Eleven for the tasting menu.
for lunch, hit up Primanti Bros for some insane sandwiches

Frick museum has a nice collection of old cars if you are into that

you should check out the incline at night - the view of pittsburgh is awesome.

to the best of my knowledge, the only thing worth doing in Pittsburgh is leaving.

Hudson County, NJ

seriously?

If you go to Primanti's, only go to the one in the Strip District. It's the original. If you are on E. Carson and want some food, try Fathead's - great sammys (the Artery Clogger is superb) and a huge beer selection.

If you're young and want to hit up the bar scene, definitely go down to the south side, anywhere between 10th and 24th street on east carson. lots of great fun and tons of people on a typical fri or saturday night.

I would be wearing my LSU gear but I def don't want to look like a tourist

I'll be at the game, in my LSU gear. Perhaps I'll bump into you.

Edit: Unless you're not talking about the WVU/LSU game...
