I am building a new gaming pc by myself for the first time amd will be using it for games like crysis 3, battlefield 4, and titanfall. I want to game at 1080p max setting with a minimum of 30fps in all games that are currently in market or will be coming out within the next 2 years. I won't be upgrading the video card for at least 2 years and I won't upgrade the cpu for 3-4 years. My budget is $1200 cad after tax, which I am already over. I was wondering if there is any way I could cut down the costs of this build http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/Pirate_Twinkie/saved/Y6C48d if not then I am okay going over budget because it is only $75 over budget.

Your build looks pretty reasonable to me. I have a few suggestions though:

- Get a board with 4 DIMM slots and a dual-channel memory kit like the ASRock H97M Pro4 for $75 AR and this Team DDR3 1600 2x4GB kit for $80. Overall, these parts cost less (after rebate), have higher performance, and give you more room for expansion.
- The PSU is too expensive for what it is. The EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W has an appropriate power output and only costs $65 AR.
- A build of this class absolutely needs an SSD. The Crucial MX100 256GB is a good deal at $117, and the savings on the parts above can offset the price increase.

Hi, I'm new...

Wanted to chime in. Totally 2nd on the SSD, the MX100 in particular. Almost on par with a Samsung evo, but less expensive. It's even more of a deal at the 512gb model.

I am building a new gaming pc and won't be upgrading for atleast 2-3 years. I need help coming up with a build within my budget. I haven't built a pc in a while and my old parts are outdated. I also want a new mouse, keyboard, and 1080p monitor. If possible some cheap speakers or I could reuse my old ones.

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.
-gaming
-some photoshop

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread
-around $1050-$1150 cad

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
-Canada

4. IF you're buying parts OUTSIDE the US, please post a link to the vendor you'll be buying from.
We can't be expected to scour the internet on your behalf, chasing down deals in your specific country... Again, help us, help YOU.
-Ncix.ca
-memoryexpress.ca
-Note: will be price matching at both vendors and I prefer memoryexpress for their 25% price beat gurantee

5. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc.
-Intel
-ATI

6. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
-none

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
-overclocking

8. What resolution, not monitor size, will you be using?
-1080p

9. WHEN do you plan to build it?
Note that it is usually not cost or time effective to choose your build more than a month before you actually plan to be using it.
-Right after finalizing build

X. Do you need to purchase any software to go with the system, such as Windows or Blu Ray playback software?
-windows

Note: I would prefer a gpu such as r9 280/x or r9 290 with lots of overclocking ability such as sapphire toxic, and a case with dust filters and atleast 2 fans(1 intake, 1 exhaust) such as 200r, and for cpu cooling I'd prefer water cooling or really good air cooling for high cpu overclocking ability. And add a inexpensive wireless card.

I skimped on a lot of stuff, including SSD size and RAM size for Photoshop. I didn't get you an IPS monitor either. Certainly no new speakers. I almost didn't fit an aftermarket cooler in there at all until I dropped the SSD size.

Thanks for the fast reply. You could have done whatever you wanted as long as it was within budget and meeting all requirements wasn't nessesary but I am happy you did.
