First time building a system

All,

The components are here and I am ready to build my system. It is the first time I am assembling one on my own.

I would appreciate if one can give me an order in which I should put together the system - just a step by step process. It would help me some.

Thanks,
Mahesh

i clicked on YOyoYOhowsDAjello's link and it doesn't actually show anything (ok i looked at it for 10 seconds but still) so here's what i have to say:
* connect the power supply to the case if it's not a stock power supply
* have nothing plugged in/powered on/everything set to off and screw in the mother board
* connect the optical drives (hard drive, dvd, cd, etc) and video card
* put in the ram
* put in the cpu for last
* if there's any other parts i forgot, make sure to go in order of fragility/value. ALWAYS do the cpu last is what i believe
* if you're adding new case fans, do those while connecting the power supply

Good luck with your first build and i hope nothing fries/breaks (knock on wood)

Obviously your browser was hijacked so you may want to scan your pc for malware. 🙂

mechBgon's guide to building your first PC from parts has a lot of useful pictures as well as detailed instructions on how to build a computer.
