First Time build--Barebones or start from scratch?

Want to build an AMD 64 system. Was considering ordering all parts from Newegg, but Mwave appears to have a good barebones configuring system; this would save me the steps of mounting cpu/heatsink into mobo and installing mobo into case. Is this worthwhile (price seems to be right) or am I just being a wimp? thanks.

Built my new computer on Friday . . . the actual putting the stuff in and hiding all the wires (cause I have a window and want a clean case) took only about an hour or 2 (i took a couple of breaks 😛)

plus i took my time (FIRST EVER BUILD)

AND, you have THE best online tech forum behind you if you choose to build your own 🙂

really, it's not that hard, just read the manual for jumper settings. the other things really only fit into the slot designed for it.(ex. ram wont fit into pci slots, pci card wont fit in cpu socket) 😛

not too hard. just remmeber to ground yourself.

if you're confusing those two, you shouldn't be ANYWHERE near a computer

With A64 mounting the heatsink is not hard at all. Attaching the motherboard to the case is pretty easy.

Unless mwave has exactly the case and motherboard you want, buy separates.

A couple of good cases:
Antec SLK3000 -- if you want a non-Antec power supply
Antec SLK3700 -- like the 3000 but with a good (budget) power supply
Antec Sonata -- decent power supply, good value.

Actually Mwave does have the mobo (EPOX 8KDA3J--nforce3) and case (ANTEC SX835II--350W SmartPower) BUT the processor Mwave installs is OEM with only a one year warranty. Better I do it myself I guess; besides A64s are easier to install than athlon xps (heatsink). I'll let you know how it turns out! 🙂
