First the clutch....

The old '94 Toyota Corolla is starting to throw a hissy fit, it seems. I made this post just the other day regarding the clutch. Picked up the car today with a new clutch, ($400, by the way), and I've got a sneaking suspicion the water pump is giving some clues it's soon to take a dirt nap on me.
Original part, with 109K miles, so I guess I'm due. And in ten years, nary a problem with this car until this past week.
So, the question is, what can I expect to pay for a water pump replacement? And for those who are mechanically knowledgeable, on this model car is the pump located in the timing belt case?
Thanks!

since the car is FWD the engine will have to be lifted to acess the belt cover and the water pump, which is located therein, since you are paying for the labor migfht as well get the timing belt changed for $20 also. The price will vary form deal to private but I woudl expect to pay no less than $400 for the job.

quite a bit, i had it done on my 99 camry which was just barely under warranty. I remember seeing it was about 400 if i didn't have teh warrnaty

Yeah, I thought the pump was located in the timing belt housing. The belt has about 50K on it, so I guess a new belt is in order, too. Ah, well...

50k isn't too bad for a belt at all... but if you can do it now, go for it.
i have 110k kms on my original timing belt, not really worried.. but i'll have to change it this year for sure.
