those are very nice! if you dont mind me asking, are those significantly post processed? Like what exactly did you do for the first two pics. and would you mind posting the originals? Did you use a CPL? I want to make my landscape shots to more like what yours look like.

PP done mostly in Lightroom - tweaking out exposure, fill light, tone curves, some color work, dust spot removal. finished up in CS4 sometimes for more fine tuning in curves, and with the PTLENS plugin to fix barrel distortion and Noise Ninja and to add the border.

the colors on the 30D are so-so which is why i really wanted the 40D to work for the 14-bit color but that conked out on me on day 1-2 there, so yes, i do some saturating of the blues, maybe desaturate some of the beige, i kick up the green a touch. nothing crazy.

for example, the dunes were quite orangey-red in real life, like in the first shot, but on the 30D they come out almost a dull tan. so in many ways, the PP is just bringing it back to reality.

are you adding some vignetting in LR? are you doing HDR brackets for the sky?
looks really nice, btw. :)

i didnt do HDR, i just underexpose by 2/3 or more for many of the landscape shots so my sky is not blown out at all or maybe just a very small part of it - and then bring out the shadows in LR via fill light or with the tone curve tool.

i find the PS curves tool more suited to fine tweaking, or maybe im just used to it from having learned on PS, so sometimes i export to that.

thanks to all for the kind words.

put a lot more edits up. now about 80 photos are online, and a bunch more to go - probably another 80 before i take a break.

i like taking photos a lot more than editing :)
