First Rig!

I am proud to say that I assembled my first rig this weekend! Thanks to everyone on this site for helpful info and insight. I got all the parts from Newegg.com, and it worked out great. I have one question though. My system internal speaker beeps twice every 7minutes and 30 seconds like clockwork. I cant figure out if this is normal, or if something is screwed up. My specs are below. Thanks.

Just a shot in the dark but what do you have your system set at as far as "sleep mode" or "suspend" or STR (Suspend to RAM)? You can check in the BIOS and under Display properties/Screensaver/Settings. It might be reacting to attempting to go into one of these modes. Unless you flashed to the latest BIOS for that board, there was a known issue for the board where it had problems with those functions. Maybe the beeps you hear are when it tries this. If it is from the internal speaker then it is like a POST code also. You could be looking at a memory problem but the beeps don't really match up to the trouble areas. You can check this out on this page. I am assuming you have an Award BIOS. Hope this helps. BTW, the BIOS release notes are found on this page.

Nice choice on mobo, is it ABIT KR7A or ABIT KR7A133 ?
if it's the first one you should put your RAID controller
so your maxtor can run on UDMA6 (ATA133).

Sorry, I guess ABIT KR7A is the non RAID version, my bad.
It's still the best mobo though, my XP1900 runs on 1740 Mhz.
You'll love the Soft Menu.
