Apparently, PS3 can't upscale. At all.
If you have an HDTV that supports 1080i but not 720p, you will end up playing 720p games in 480p, because it can't upscale them to 1080i.

Also, a more minor problem with this is that it can't upscale PS1/PS2 games either, so you're stuck with 480i for PS1 and 480p for PS2.

Didn't see this posted anywhere, and I thought it might be good info to know if you're planning on getting a PS3 and have a TV that only supports 1080i.

Well that's fine with me. I didn't see it in the stickied thread (because I didn't read all 20 pages), and I know people like to ignore stickies anyway. It's not a concern of mine because I'm not getting a PS3, just a PSA for anyone who is.
 
I really dont' follow those stickies either, because it just turns out to be a huge chat session's log file...
No way i'm reading through all of it if I haven't kept up with it, because it would take 10 minutes or more.
