Parts for 2 new rigs arrived yesterday:
1st one is up and running

C2D E6600
OCZ 8800GTX
P5B-Deluxe
Geil PC6400 2GB
X-fi gamer
Tuniq tower
Thermaltake shark
Seasonic 550+ energy
Seagate 7200.10 500GB

Assorted inherited parts

Only running XP MCE, as I'm still waiting for my Vista 'express upgrade' that I ordered back in December - and my order still hasn't been accepted. I gave up waiting and just built the rigs.

Good to see a nice, organized build area with no threat of static discharge! Lol, jk jk, very nice builds. Why are you building two?

I don't care for the gaudy Thermatake case but otherwise pretty nice choice of hardware.

Wow, NICE rigs! The black case isn't too bad looking; never seen that case in person though.

That parts list makes me drool. Based on your choice of heatsinks, I'd assume a wee bit of overclocking is in store, eh? :D

Very nice choices, aside from the RAM.

You don't technically need great RAM anyway though, it's just that it's nice to be able to run 4:5 as P965 loves bandwidth.
Should do just great @ 1:1 though.

Just a preliminary update.

No probs at 3.0 GHz - everything stock.
No POST at 3.2 GHz.

Personally, it's fast enough at 3, so I'm not going to push it. After some fan modding, I've got it nice and quiet.

In fact, the whole system is quieter than my external hard drive.
