<< When is GM going to redesign this model? Hasnt it been around for about 4 or 5 years now? >>

camaro /firehawk/TA arent being sold for 2 years, the redesign will be out in 2005 i think, should be pretty tight

I wish I could have bought something like that as my new car, but as a daily driver up here it wouldn't have worked too well with all of the snow.

Nice wax job BTW!

Nice looking car from the side, but the rearend looks pretty ugly IMO. Congrats on the car tho, have fun driving it! 🙂

Thanks for the comments Guys and a few laughs also.

A few points-

Mechanical and Insurance nightmare- My '93 went for 9 years on only a set of tires and a battery. How many EXPENSIVE imports and domestics could make a claim like that.
Insurance is a con and rip off in most cases so I agree there but remember you only pay the difference between the insurance for a POS to a nice car and that isnt that much if you have a good driving record.

I tend to keep my cars a long time but the '93 was the first NEW car Id ever bought. I just dont like buying a used HP car that could have been beat to h*ll, have low miles, still look good and cost a fortune in repairs and heartache. Like the full warranty for 3 years also.

Resale does tend to be lower on these models IF YOU TRADE THEM. I always sell my cars privately and have a line of people waiting for them. Remember low trade in is good if you are buying used from lot as asking prices are lower too.

Last year for the F body cars as we know them, another reason I bought a new one. Very few affordable muscle cars left. Who knows what the future of performance cars will be?

Rear view ugly ? Personal opinion as I always thought it was one of the better ones. Not crazy about the chicken wire look of the newer taillights though.

Reliability wise these cars are well built. The majority of problems are linked to people doing things they should not. Like broken driveshafts. My mom is on her second F-Body and has no major problems. I am a mechanic and these cars have the same reliability as any other car, not taking into account the owner 😉

Now insurance is going to be higher. Again see owner's. The corvette is one of the highest death rates for owners, has been #1 for a long time. Not because the car is unsafe, just the way SOME owners drive them. People get cars that they can't handle. I drive my Moms z28 and when my parents are with me they think I am going to wreck it but I know what the car can and cannot do. My parents don't. I can handle just about anything out there. I fix them, sup them up, and drive them.

But the F-Bodies are the best bang for your buck. And if you can keep the tires from slipping you can get these just under 5sec's to 60mph. How you like those apples 🙂

Man, I have been through 4 sets of skins for my dodge. And in only 24k miles. The original Coopers sucked tho.

285's are not cheap 😛

Sweet ride ya got there 😀

You disappoint me TBM - one set of tires? Were you driving Miss Daisy?
>>

It had like 30k miles on it. But still...one set in 30k is kinda embrassing. 😱 Burnout time! 😀

I went through some Pirelli's on my Accord in < 2 years....and I can't even chirp it in 1st gear anymore 🙁 (Less than 20K in those <2 years)

Cool car. I used to have a 79 ta when I was in high school.

I had heard that this was the last year. Hopefully it might make your car more valuable in the long run.

Hee Hee. Well, that was said to state a point about the reliability of the car. I meant I only replaced the tires once. A set came with the car, remember. The second set was getting close to replacement time when I sold it with 35,000 miles clocked. Not a lot of miles in 9 years but really didnt drive it "Miss Daisey" easy or "The Fast and the Furious or Gone in 60 Seconds" hard either.

Forgive me now? 😎
