First PC startup questions...

OK, I finished building my new PC last night, and I just finished applying Arctic Silver 5 to the heatsink and CPU. Good news so far. Everything starts up normally, lights come on, all good things. But I just want to make sure I set up the power supply correctly. I have an Antec Truepower 2.0 430 watt PS with the dual 12 volt output. But I just want to make sure I hooked it up correctly. When I enter the bios hardware monitor, it tells me that the 12 volt is operating at 11.23 v. Does this mean that I haven't activated the dual 12 volt output, or is that just something that is not user configurable (goes on behind the scenes)?

Also, what is a good temperature for the CPU and mobo to be? Right now (it's only been on for about 2 minutes), it says the CPU is at 38 C and the mobo is at 32 C. Does that sound about right? At what temperature do I need to start worrying?

Power supplies can vary, and may not put out a constant 12 or 5 volts. 11.23v isn't anything to worry about.

As far as temps, those are not too bad. When they start going over 65 or so I'd start to wonder. I think they specs say that processors shouldn't go over 85 degrees max.

Those temps are fine. You don't really need to worry until you get up over 60C.

The terminal temperature for AMD used to be 90C, I don't know if it still is or not.

OMG, bluedeviltron finally built his computer he posted 237637289027threads on!😛

what are the specs?😉

anyways, you psu should be fine. the software readings are almost always off. as long as your compy is stable, you don't need to worry.
