Me to. Then that next weekend we went to the BEACH ! ! ! OOOWEEEE !!!!!

When I was really little my parents took me to see Bambi in the early 70's. I must have been really little, but I can still remember going because I was so excited.

I think it was "WARGAMES", I remember cause the older kids were giving me a hard time asking me - Did I understand it? Of course I didn't but i said 'Ya". or maybe 'cloak & daggar' or 'return Of the Jedi'. I need to ask my mom.

I don't remember what the first movie I saw in a theater was, but I DO remember paying .25 cents to get in. 🙂
The only one that really sticks in my mind from those long ago days was "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken"
I'm sure I saw others long before that though!
(Actually, now that I think about it, I saw "Sleeping Beauty" and "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" back when I was real young.)

(However, when I was in the Marines, theaters on base cost .25 cents as well.)

Original Star Wars is the first I remember. I was 6 or 7. Although I remember go to the local Drive-In before that.
me too. i was 6 or 7 as well.

Same here, I was 5. I saw it at least 10 times in theaters. I'm sure I had been to the theater before that, but I can't remember any of the earlier movies. Actually, seeing SW is about the only thing I can remember very clearly and thoroughly from that age or younger. That tells you how big of an impact it had on me.

It was either the original Star Wars or Grease at the local drive in theater, I just can't remember which was first...probably Star Wars.

Same here! My sister and I were so scared we slept in our parent's room. 🙂 Not to mention going swimming in the ocean was a little more terrifying for awhile afterward....

The funny thing is Jaws 2 was on the other day and I was like *yawn* how phony and dull. My wife felt the same way and we changed the station. Time changes everything. 😉

I have shoes older than most of you people.

My parents were too cheap for theaters, Drive-ins were where it was at. You rode on the ferris wheel until the movie started. First one I can remember was Psycho.
