First look: 2010 Nissan 370Z Roadster

http://www.motorauthority.com/...ew-york-auto-show.html

This is one sweet looking ride, but from what i've read the 370z is a lot heavier than the competition.

- With the first batch of 370Z Coupes rolling out of showrooms across the United States, Nissan has confirmed that the Roadster version of the car will make its world debut at this week?s New York Auto Show and released this teaser shot in the lead up to its unveiling.

While the last-generation 350Z drop-top was often criticized for its awkward proportions, the new image show that the lines of Nissan?s new 370Z Roadster ? with the top down at least - are in much better proportion with the rest of the car.

The new Roadster will stick with a conventional folding soft-top roof to keep weight down and set it apart from the more premium Infiniti G37 Convertible and its folding metal hard-top. Under the hood will be the same 3.7L VQ37VHR V6 as the Coupe, rated at 332hp (247kW) and 270lb-ft (366Nm) of torque.

In keeping with the ?affordable performance? theme of its 350Z predecessor, Nissan will price the new 370Z Roadster only slightly above the Coupe, which starts at $29,930 (excluding destination charges). The new price represents a $1,420 increase over the 2008 350Z, so expect a similar hike for the Roadster.

Gearbox options will include a six-speed manual with the new "SynchroRev Match" function, as well as a seven-speed automatic with paddle shifters.

Also expected for the New York event is the debut of the American version of the Nismo-enhanced 370Z Coupe S-Tune. Our version will likely be called the 370Z Nismo Edition and should feature the same list of accessories as the Japanese model. -

sorry but its still ugly, just like the 350Z roadster

look at the freaking high door line on the car, it clearly wasn't designed as a roadster. can't see the back, I hope they fixed that abomination.

i'm pretty sure the car was designed knowing that they'd make a roadster version of it

that picture might be a photoshop

i saw this car (coupe version) in person, and I have to say, hands down, it's the best looking sports car on the road out there. The lines, proportions..almost everything looks extremely pleasing. gorgeous. This car in real life looks utterly amazing.

maybe they knew they were going to make a roadster version, but having to share parts with the coupe to hold down costs make it look odd. shame b/c the 370z coupe is a really sharp car

the 350 convertible was fugly with the top down and made people want to puke with the top up. hopefully they've fixed it.

convertibles that look good top up or down: mustang, miata, 911, corvette, solstice/sky

I've seen it in person and while it looks nice when you look at it from up close. It looks fugly from afar.

I expected a WHOLE new look from the 370 and I was shocked to find that the 370 looks a LOT like the 350. My opinion counts squat around here but is it me or is the 370 a bit uglier than the 350?

I think color matters as well, they do look great in person (370z), except for silver and that blue color. The blue makes me want to turn away.

Guy at work has a dark grey 350z convertible at work and I just shake my head every time I walk by that ginormous ass that's from here to eternity.

What's the weight and price on that puppy?
I don't like how you have to get the touring version to get the sport package.

You don't (at least for the coupe). Not sure what options are available for the roadster though....
