While so far the presumption was that the first people arrived in America only 14,000 years ago, this new find may push that back a few thousand years:

Monte Verde in Chile has already proven there were pre-clovis settlements.
Only link I have. Search. There have also been many skulls found with nonmongoloid features but do to some law I can't properly quote they have to be turned over to native americans. The skulls seem to have negroid features.
