all going into the antec 900 this will be mainly a gaming pc

read the sticky at the top of the forum called NOTICE --- etc. You might get more responses to your question. Also, actually typing out what the parts are will help, rather than just posting links.

well it seems u took some wrong parts i mean
use a p45 board, buy a q9550 wid the money u save by going for the cheaper board
and r u going to sli 9800 gtx ??
if so or if not go for a 4850
whats the psu
go for a xigmatek s1283(was it 1285 ?? dont remember the model number)
whats the use of this pc (gaming or video editing)
are you overclocking it or not
and do edit the post and type the name of the parts next to the link
or you will sound just as annoying as me🙂
and happy building and happy overclocking

Typically more people are prone to suggest things if they don't have to go to every link to view your choice of parts, maybe edit in the part names before/after the link?

Also, the 790i chipset can only support DDR3 memory, so either go for the 780i for the SLI, or if you're not going to use SLI then opt for a P45 board or something. Also, open box for motherboards usually means you're missing all the cables/extras that come with the board, one reason most people avoid it.

AnthonyEU welcome to AnandTech Forums.

If you want fast credible answers. Edit the OP as ai Did to your first Item and explian what you are going to do with the system (gaming, Web. etc.).

which p45 board should i get?? and also what does sli mean? and yes i want to overclock my cpu and grafx card you have any suggestions?

if this is your first build, do not get an open box motherboard. it doesn't come with any accessories, usually.

SLI means running 2 or more NVIDIA video cards at the same time, using a special SLI bridge connector. the purpose is getting faster frame rates in games, obviously at double (or triple) the cost for hardware.

I'd go with ASUS or Gigabyte for your P45 board... and you don't have to really spend more than $100 on a mobo.

i changed up the processor and also the motherboard is there anything else i will need? a cooler for anything else? what kind of hard drive would u recommend?

Denni, check out the fanless card I posted, it's the 1GB model. It's almost a shame he can't wait a month for those price cuts.

well xigmatek s1283 or ocz vendetta 2 anyone

its like
9800gt = 8800gt < 9800gtx <4850ati < 260 gtx <4870 < 280gtx(may be even 285) <4850x2 (295 are arnd here which is a 2 times a 260)< 280 sli

and sli stands for scalable link interface it is only for nvidia
for ati its cross fire
the problem wid these is scalabilty(dunno what it and i even dont wanna know)

and overclocking(incase u wanna know)
clockspeed = f.s.b x multiplier
rise any for the clock speed to increase and do the stress test too

and before you jump in to buy stuff i recommend u give the phenom 2 a thought
dunno whiether its better than a 9550 or not and i dont even wanna know
and boy o boy you r gonna buy a cooler for 74$ 😱
you could buy a 550 watt psu with that much money(if iam not wrong)

not sure why anyone would recommend a tuniq tower these days. they still work fine, but they are very heavy and not cheap.

sunbeam core contact freezer does the best job for the money that i've seen, and it's lighter than the competition, also has 4 heat pipes instead of the tuniq's 3.

You've listed good alternatives. I just recommend what I know works for me. I guess I havent' had to shop for a cooler in a while, so I'm a little behind on the latest.
