Hey, this is my first build, and I wanted to make sure everything was good before I go through and purchase it.

Well I'm basing everything around the GTX 460 1G Cyclone I just got on sale a week back.

Blain, while yes, your an enthusiast and your presence on these forums is everlasting...you never seem to help, have you realized that? You dash in, leave a remark that doesn't help, and then leave... I know you have a LOT of knowledge in there, "surfing" these forums as much as you have. Just saying, But yah, Dezi. I just just built a computer for around $796, a little higher than you were wanting, but you could go down on ram, and possibly do what i did. I called, and asked around for cases, and PSU's. Found i friend that a had mini server case, from three years ago, and a 650W PSU....So that allowed me to open up for better components. Also try, craigslist for cases, the case is a part i would buy used, nothing else though. Might be able to grab one for less than nothing, Perhaps... As far as my build goes

watch out for the RAM, make sure your board is Triple channel, or three will default down to single channel. SO either 4 stick, or 2. Remember to include OS, if need be.

Im gonna see if i can find some good combo deals on Newegg, possibly some Coupon codes for tiger direct or something. and what about a graphics card? That a key component for gaming

Huh????????? With AMD and Intel it's the CPU that has the memory controller, not the motherboard. All AMD chips are dual-channel right now.

Anyway OP, I think your build as posted in the OP is pretty good. The RAM is down to $86 today, so that leaves you about $35 for the case which is enough for a cheapie like this Rosewill.

You could also go with this RAM + Mobo combo. It's a 700 series vs an 800 series chipset, but you're getting the RAM for $40.
 
cmmenke == Yea, the graphic card is the only thing I have so far, that's why I didn't post up a link, and I'm totally down for buying the used case but if it has problems, it's the one holding the beastly things inside of it lol yea, your build def looks amazing, but a little costly for me because of the PSU and case I'm getting with it too. and for the OP, I get the windows 7 for 35 at my university.

BTW:: I've never thought of buying interal solid state drive, whats the pros on that? apart from what the description says, it sounds like a must

The main difference is that the 870 motherboard has SATA 6Gb/s and USB 3.0. The 785G does have onboard graphics, which could be useful for troubleshooting, but that's a minor benefit.

IYO, Is it better to go with the 6gb for the long run for $50 more? Going to be keeping this build around for a while, and btw, is that case + drive combo good? I'm not sure why, but I like if someone else agrees with me lol
 
betasub == sorry, I meant to specify the SATA 3gb vs 6gb, is it only to do with the hard drive ? or does it effect graphics card speed?

Sorry, didn't see your edit. That drive and case look fine as long as your like that...erm...aesthetic. But seriously, as long as you are OK with the look, the NZXT looks like a decent cheap case.

SATA 6Gb/s will not matter for mechanical drives at any point within this system's lifetime. It will matter if you plan to upgrade the SSD down the road, but you can always throw in one of these cards later.
 
oh, my bad. SATA 6gb/s make sense on a mid-high build that would add one of the up-coming 6gb/s SSD. $50 is a pretty big mark-up: not sure if it's worth it, or if a PCIe add-in card could provide the same features...

Hey, I forgot to mention that will I need anything more if I'm going to be using this computer for DJ software too? any audio upgrades? so there's no lag and it the music cues up flawlessly when dj'ing. The DJ has an intergrated audio card.

I've been using Acid Pro on integrated audio for a few weeks now. I dunno too much yet but based on what my instructor said, what I've experienced, and what I've heard from others you should be fine unless you have really good ears, and need a pro audio studio build. You should be fine. Based on what my instructor said you'll only hear a substancial benefit from cards over the price of your build.
