First ever cellphone was a real Brick!

i remember those. my dad had one of those and told him to call him only if there was an emergency because each min was like $2 incoming or outgoing.

Never sold the original brick but I remember selling the last of the smaller version of it. Ahh the days of Cellular One, analog was king, and a $40 plan got you 50 minutes of talk time.

That's nothing.

Some of the first ones came with a separate carrying bag for the power supply. Was like carrying around a purse.

MY DAD STILL USES ONE. It's in his new jaguar (used to mention the contrast between a decent car and a crappy old cellphone). He's had it in the car for over ten years. He pays a small fee and only uses it for emergencies. It still works 🙂

He's almost 2000 miles away, and I'd feel silly asking 😉

my friends grandpa has an even older cell phone, it's a leather suitcase with a handset attached with a cord. and the moron is still paying for the service, which is like 400 a month! :Q
