Why does it say Unpaid item?

You didn't pay for it in the end perhaps? He is trying to get his listing or closing fees back. If I were in your place, I would just agree to it then exchange positive feedbacks and say he handled the problem professionally and move on with my life.

Ok, so thats all its about... his listing fees? I guess i can agree to that... Just didnt wanna make it seem as if this was my fault....(i.e. something for him to come back at me for)

Is a neutral warranted? or would this be a positive since it was worked out?

Yup make ebay feedback even more worthless

he is just using that as a reason to get a refund for his ebay fees. not to worry. since it says MUTUALLY, you will not get a negative strike from ebay.
